About Us

Pastor Ivan D. Pride Sr. is the son of Pastor Roger D. Pride and the late Shelbra Alexander Pride. A second-generation preacher, he follows in the footsteps of his father, who has faithfully pastored Mt. Olive M.B. Church for 47 years. Pastor Pride accepted his call to preach in 2000 and was blessed to share the news with his mother just days before she passed from cancer on August 31, 2000. He preached his initial sermon on the first Sunday in October of that same year.

Over the course of 12 years, Pastor Pride served under the late Rev. Otis C. Neloms Sr., and he now continues that relationship under the guidance of Rev. Otis C. Neloms Jr. His home church is First M.B. Church in Courtland, Alabama.

Pastor Pride accepted the call to serve Hartselle M.B. Church in July 2012. He was ordained in August and installed as pastor in September of that year, and he has been faithfully serving the congregation ever since.

Pastor Pride has been married to Lashonda Pride since April 1997. They are the proud parents of three children: Ivan Dante Pride Jr., a third-generation preacher, youth pastor at Change Church in Atlanta, major recording artist with Motown/Tamla Records, and a 2025 Stellar Awards nominee; and twin daughters Kaylee and Kelsee Pride, who are currently sophomores at Alabama A&M University. The pair also shares a daughter-in-law.

Pastor Pride is a supervisor at Hexcel Corporation in Decatur, Alabama, where he has worked for 30 years. First Lady Pride is a dedicated elementary school teacher in the Decatur City Schools system, with 25 years of service and plans to retire in 2026.

In his free time, Pastor Pride enjoys traveling, serving others, and watching sports. His favorite teams are the Dallas Cowboys and the Auburn Tigers. He is a proud 1993 graduate of Courtland High School.

Services

Hartselle MB Church offers opportunities each week to grow in the Word and connect in faith. We gather for Sunday School and Sunday Worship, where we learn, praise, and fellowship together. During the week, our Tuesday and Wednesday Bible Study conference calls provide a convenient way to dive deeper into Scripture and stay spiritually grounded, no matter where you are. All we ask is that you mute your phone upon entering, to prevent background noise and connectivity issues!
